Guerwitcz's Story Line
Thad is getting dressed, telling August that he has to meet with his agent. Instead he visits David, planning on picking up their relationship where he left off and at the same time remain in the closet.
Meanwhile the rumour is circulating that someone on the team is gay. Reactions range from outright condemnation to "who cares". Someone suggests that only the single guys are suspect, which in turn prompts Thad to buy a ring and to propose to August.

At practice, David confronts Thad and outs him to the rest of the team. Thad continues to deny that he's gay, but Guard Dog one of the team members, is determined to prove otherwise. After realising David was the guy that made a pass at him in the bar, he searches him out and gets the truth. He calls August and tells her, but Thad denies it once again, telling her it's a prank.
The atmosphere in the locker room becomes more unfriendly and Thad is called in to talk to the owner. The owner shows Thad photos of David and him and, while Thad maintains they were just friends on vacation, the truth is obvious. In order to quash the rumours and to protect the team, he asks Thad to go on injury reserve, essentially ending his season. Thad refuses to sign and gets advice that proves he doesn't have to.
Several members of the team are angry that he won't go on IR and try to ensure he really is injured during the practice. Thad refuses to give up and gets through the practice battered but unbowed.

As the team is preparing to leave for the game, the coach announces that only one member made the league all-star line up - Thad. When asked to make a speech, Thad finally admits to being gay and confronts his antagonists. He tells them that, as long as he helps the team win, his private life is none of their business.
However, the owner calls him into his office once again. He congratulates him, but still wants him to go on IR. This time, though, he produces a video taken of Thad buying the drugs for DH during half-time (episode 5), implying that they were for himself not DH. He threatens to send the tape to the league head office, almost ensuring that Thad will be suspended for the rest of the season and into the next, plus the possibility that he may face criminal charges. Defeated, Thad signs.
After he's cleaned out his locker, Thad is interviewed by the press and the question about a personal rumour arises once again. This time, it's not that he's gay, but that he's engaged. Thad confirms it, saying that the one good thing about being on IR is that he will have more time to spend with his fiancée and that they will be getting married soon.
