Thad is at a night club once again with some of the other team members and August, the girl he met in the last episode, when he spots David, his boyfriend, across the room. He arranges to meet him in the bathroom, asking him if he was following him, telling him to go home. David accuses him of sleeping with August just to prove to his teammates that he's straight . As he leaves the bathroom, David warns him they aren't his friends.

Back in the bar, David sends a drink to Guard Dog, one of the other players, pretending to make a pass at him. Thad sees the confrontation as if he himself were saying the things to David that Guard Dog is. He loses control, fearing that David will out him, and ends up knocking David to the floor and kicking him.

The next day the brawl makes the papers and the owner tells Thad to make the whole thing go away. Thad stops David outside his apartment, tells him he's sorry and asks him not to press charges. David accuses him of not wanting to apologise, but just wanting to save his career. He tells him he won't press charges because Thad isn't worth it.

When the owner asks if it's settled, Thad assures him it is. He then leaves and makes a phone call. On the phone he says he wants the other person come to the stadium and says, "I love you". When he goes to the reception area, it's August that's waiting.
